I’ve been watching a bit more anime as of late, and when this video preview came across my YouTube recommended videos, I figured why not.. let’s check it out.
Porter Robinson and Madeon are fantastic EDM artists and the fusion of both of their styles together create a wonderful song that’s been on repeat since I found the video. I really like Porter Robinson’s style of melting vocals into something more ethereal (and sometimes cutesy).
The video is amazing and well worth a couple watches for the story it tells, click play and enjoy!
Last Friday was the opening night of the long awaited latest chapter of the Fast & The Furious franchise. I, like many others, was curious to see how they would handle the passing of Paul Walker, aka Brian O’Conner. I wrote about Mr. Walker after his passing in 2013 (https://thelancergirl.wordpress.com/2013/12/01/the-fast-and-the-furious/). It was the very first time that a celebrity’s passing had an impact on my life, Paul was truly a car enthusiast like any one of us.
This song is part of Furious 7’s soundtrack, and the video is a wonderful tribute to Paul and his character Brian. It continues the feels that can be felt during the last moments of the movie and you can see that the emotions are very real for the cast.
I’ve been singing my praises over Google Play Music for nearly a year now. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to find so much amazing music as I’ve found over the year. The other day, while studying for an exam (and doing some creative writing at the same time), I decided to use Google Play Music’s radio feature on “All Along the Watchtower” – Alex Da kid Remix (yes, I know I know.. a remake)
I really like the remake, and would listen to it over and over until I’m entirely sick of the song.. but I digress.
“Bad Moon Rising” (which is yet another remake), came on the playlist and I was sucked into the low and deep vocals along with the dub step-esque backing track (and I do love me some dub step-esque music). It’s soulful, steamy and a really good listen. Bonus points because it was actually a song used for one of the Walking Dead previews!
Here’s a thing you likely never knew about me, I wanted to get into agressive inline skating a long long time ago when I was an avid inline skater. This video is sick, but it’s the song that definitely makes the video for me, I first heard this track on the trailer for “Pain & Gain”
This is a killer workout track and a really good song to skate to at the park.
Another case of the video getting me hooked into the song, a few months ago, Rollergirl.ca’s facebook shared a video by Chicks in Bowls skater Bomba Hache. The skating in the video is amazing and I can’t stop watching the video to get inspired for my own skating, but this is Ear Candy, not Eye Candy.. and I have to tell you, that this track is sick. It’s a great work-out/skate song and I’ve definitely listened to it on repeat several times when I drive/skate/workout/exist. The remix just makes this song so much better, it’s another one of those songs that just makes you instantly happy!
In the first of likely many posts about Knife Party from their new album “Abandon Ship” I feature “404.” If you do not like dub step, this song is likely not for you. It has a good bass line and features noises from windows computers very heavily. If you’re like me, and enjoy a good electronic soundtrack to late night coding, this song is perfect for those times when you’re in a trance and are ninja coding something amazeballs.
I can’t stop listening to this song for some reason, it just feels like an electronic spaghetti western, and I just envision this big epic drive (in a fancy, expensive car) in mountains heading to Calgary or something. Every time this song comes on when I drive, I can’t help but turn it up and just enjoy myself.
I love music that puts a smile on your face and sparks your imagination, and this song is definitely one of those songs for me.
The video is obviously done in a spaghetti western style, and it stars Ray Liotta and Andrew Keegan. It sort of reminds me of a Tarintino-style film. It also features the leading lady as the hero of the story which is awesome!
In honour of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 ending, I decided that this iteration of Ear Candy is dedicated to the incomparable RuPaul!
The video features the final 4 (Adore, Bianca, Courtney and Darienne) and the Top 3 (Darienne was eliminated in the music video episode). I really like this song, it has a great and motivating message and a good beat to it. You really can be your sassy self while you Sissy that walk to this song!
I have listened to this song multiple times daily this week. When it snows, I revert back to my metal / alt and sometimes electronic music loving self. I used to listen to A Perfect Circle quite a bit in my college years, and this remix from the Resident Evil soundtrack is just aggressive enough that it makes me feel like stylishly killing the zombie hoards.
